Faces & Voices of Recovery invites professionals in the state of Illinois to attend a FREE virtual training. In conjunction with the Illinois Department of Human Services we are excited to bring you this training about the importance of being trauma-informed.
Trauma-Informed Recovery is a powerful three-hour training session that dives deep into explaining the ways trauma shapes people. Traumatic experiences can dramatically alter people’s lives, and subsequently, perspectives. Understanding the ways that trauma can impact people and shape their perspectives is crucial. This training is essential for anyone working with vulnerable populations.
As Recovery Support Service Providers, we are not immune to the effects of stress and secondary trauma. Many people who have chosen to work in this field have experiential expertise in trauma and this empowers individuals to use their own experiences as a guiding framework for understanding how to extend compassion and empathy to others. Session-goers will walk away from this training with the skills necessary to create healthy boundaries, develop a concrete self-care plan & learn the risks of not being trauma-informed.
