Veterans and Active-Duty Military Issues in SUD

Veterans and Active Duty Service Members experience physical and emotional traumatic events that may predispose them to chronic pain and substance use issues.  Screening and intervention strategies will be reviewed in detail.  Co-morbid issues of pain, behavioral health and somatic complaints will be discussed.

At the conclusion of the webinar, the attendee will be able to:

• Recognize the relationship of physical, emotional and behavioral health with substance use disorders in military and veteran members.
• Understand the VA and DoD healthcare system for substance use disorders.
• Integrate the multidisciplinary approach for chronic pain and SUD issues.
• Describe the integration of the 2023 VA/DoD chronic pain protocols.
