SUMMARY:Evidence-Based Treatment for Adolescents and Adults: CRA and A-CRA
DESCRIPTION:As part of training and technical assistance\, SUPR is pleased to offer you and your staff the opportunity to attend training and become certified in the Community Reinforcement Approach (CRA). CRA is one of the first evidence-based treatments for substance use disorders and has been shown to be effective for opioid use disorders\, especially in combination with MAT. CRA research spans four decades and over a dozen positive clinical trials. See the attached flyer to read more about CRA. \n  \nAbout CRA training and different certification tracks \nCRA training is for clinicians and clinical supervisors. Sometimes a senior clinician serves as the CRA clinical supervisor. An organization can achieve sustainability of this treatment model by sending at least one clinician and supervisor to the training. For more information about the CRA model\, training\, and certification\, as well as testimonials from prior trainees and patients\, visit https://www.chestnut.org/ebtx. \n  \nCRA-informed certification. Trainees may pursue CRA-informed certification after the training. These self-paced\, online courses provide additional details on the CRA procedures and further reinforce the clinical applications of procedures taught in the training. This certification anchors your understanding of CRA and provides actual clinical sessions demonstrating the use of CRA procedures. \n  \nClinical certification. Following the CRA training\, trainees may follow a certification process that involves uploading clinical session recordings to a secure website for expert feedback and attending online coaching meetings for up to one hour twice per month. After certification\, a supervisor can train and certify clinicians at his/her own agency. \n  \nHere’s what clinicians and supervisors have said recently about CRA training and certification: \n  \n\nThis training was fantastic! I really enjoy the method – it is so valuable and so very client-centered! The trainers were great! I learned so much from this training. I wish I had this training years ago – it is so valuable!\n\n  \n\nI appreciate my Chestnut Coordinator and her incredible coaching. She is great! She is so positive\, encouraging\, wise\, and inspiring. I learned a lot from her. She always made me feel good about my skills and progress. That meant and still means so much to me.\n\n  \n\nThank you for the full support I received throughout my certification process! I can’t speak highly enough of the Chestnut team\, who went above and beyond to provide me feedback and guidance. Thank you for the continuous encouragement I received since the first day of training!\n\n  \nAbout Chestnut’s EBTx Center \nThe EBTx Center at Chestnut Health Systems has been training and certifying clinicians and clinical supervisors in CRA since 2006. To date\, the EBTx Center has trained over 3\,000 clinicians and supervisors at over 600 provider organizations in the United States and Canada. \n  \nJanuary 2024 training information \nThe next CRA training is scheduled for January 24-26 and will take place via Zoom. Training is spread over 3 days\, from 10am CT to 4pm CT. SUPR is covering the cost of training\, certification\, coaching\, and on-demand support and assistance to your clinical staff who participate in the training process. Continuing education credit from NAADAC\, the Association for Addiction Professionals\, is available to those who attend the training in its entirety. \n  \nTo register\, please complete the attached form and email it to Christin Libernini Bair at clibernini@chestnut.org. The deadline to register is Friday\, January 12. We hope you will take advantage of this important training opportunity. \n  \nKind regards\, \nKelli Wright \n  \n  \nKelli L.
