SUMMARY:MOUD Training for Emergency Services
DESCRIPTION:COVID-19 has created new barriers to care isolation impacts patients struggling with addiction. Clinics are reducing hours and limiting the intake of new patients. For many\, ED is their only source of treatment. Getting X-Waivered can make a difference and save lives. Get Waivered is finding solutions to move patients out of the emergency room and into evidence based care remotely. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n1 Day Event \nGet Waivered \nRegistration Link: Get Waivered Remote – Get Waivered.

SUMMARY:Individualized Services Plans Using ASAM Criteria and Motivational Interviewing (ISP): 2-Day training (Day 2)
DESCRIPTION:This application-focused workshop offers a practical approach to the ASAM Criteria and how it supports and drives individualized service planning. Participants will understand the relationship between the treatment plan and the use of The ASAM Criteria’s admission\, continued stay\, transfer\, and discharge criteria. In addition\, participants will learn how to write measurable\, individualized treatment plans based on the individualized needs of the client and the dimensional analysis. Behavior change principles will be discussed to enhance trainees’ understanding of how and why people change and explore ways in which the client’s stage of change impacts and drives a person-centered service plan. Participants’ abilities to develop individualized service planning will be strengthened through core motivational interviewing skills tohave better conversations about individualized needs and increase client readiness for and engagement in treatment. Training spots are limited but registration will remain open until all slots are full. Please only have one participant per corporation due to limited spots. \n\n2 Day Event \nCEUs will be offered

SUMMARY:Series 5- Medication Assisted Recovery (MAR): Continuum of Care Needed to Effectively Treat Opioid Users
DESCRIPTION:The Southern Illinois University School of Medicine offers both the Medication Assisted Recovery ECHO and the Co-Occurring Disorder ECHO. This ECHO\, coordinated by the Department of Psychiatry at SIU School of Medicine\, aims to create a network of trained providers with DATA-2000 waivers who will improve access and care for patients with opioid addiction. The Opioid ECHO will also train clinicians who have the DATA-2000 waiver but who are not yet prescribing. Project ECHO (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) is a hub and spoke educational model that connects specialists in academic medical centers (“hubs”) to primary care clinicians in rural and underserved communities (“spokes”) via videoconferencing. The ECHO sessions involve a case-based learning approach that contains 15-minute didactic lessons and patient case presentations by clinicians at participating spoke sites. \n\n1 Day Event \nApproved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit \nMust Register  – do not have have to attend full series

SUMMARY:Harm Reduction Approach within ASAM Criteria Framework: 1-day
DESCRIPTION:The ASAM Criteria provides guidelines focusing on coordinating medical care\, providing therapeutic alternatives\, evaluating safety\, addressing co-occurring disorders\, involving social supports\, and documenting clinical needs within the framework of the six dimensions. This includes setting and evaluating individualized measurable treatment goals which drive variable lengths of stay based on the needs of the person served. The Criteria centers on the clinically indicated intensity of care based on an ongoing assessment\, determining progress based on the individualized plan of care\, making appropriate referrals and recommendations\, and providing adequate social support referrals when needed. This training provides skill building in the use of the ASAM Criteria as a framework for determining the most appropriate intensity of services and how a harm reduction model/approach; specifically providing strategies for working with clients on goal setting\, application of risk reduction skills and evaluation of treatment goals fits within the broader framework of the Criteria’s six dimensions and levels of care. Training spots are limited but registration will remain open until all slots are full. Please only have one participant per corporation due to limited spots. \n\n1 Day Event \nCEUs will be offered

SUMMARY:2021 Illinois Evidence-Based Practices Virtual Conference Series: Intro to Individual Placement and Support (IPS)
DESCRIPTION:The goal of this presentation is to educate stakeholders on the evidence-based practice model of Supported Employment called Individual Placement and Support [IPS]\, and to promote IPS as a core mental health service within managed care. We will also share “enhancements” that have been added to the IPS model in Illinois that have improved local service delivery and integration of the model in light of COVID-19. IPS is proven through research to be the most effective approach to helping individuals with serious mental illnesses to return to the workforce; with the goal being the attainment and maintenance of a competitive\, preference-based job within the community. We believe that work should be a standard of health care in the strengthening of a comprehensive mental health system in Illinois\, and that IPS should be the approach to use to assist persons impacted by serious mental illnesses to get into the workforce. \n\n1 Day Event \nCEUs are available
