SUMMARY:QPR LGBTQ+ Suicide Prevention Training - in Partnership with the Mental Health Resource Center
DESCRIPTION:QPR LGBTQ+ Suicide Prevention Training – in Partnership with the Mental Health Resource Center\nJune 13\, 2024\n2:00 PM – 3:30 PM \nQPR stands for Question\, Persuade\, and Refer — the 3 simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. Just as people trained in CPR help save thousands of lives each year\, people trained in QPR learn how in a short timeframe to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question\, persuade\, and refer someone to help. \nThe Trevor Project’s 2023 U.S. National Survey on the Mental Health of LGBTQ Young People found that 41% of LGBTQ+ young people seriously considered attempting suicide in the past year\, including roughly half of transgender and nonbinary youth. LGBTQ+ young people are not inherently prone to suicide risk because of their sexual orientation or gender identity but rather placed at higher risk because of how they are mistreated and stigmatized in society. Join Prevention First’s Mental Health and Youth Prevention Resource Centers during Pride Month for a virtual QPR training with a special focus on preventing suicide among LGBTQ+ folks. Click below to for more information and to register. \n  \nQPR – LGBTQ+ Suicide Prevention | Prevention First \n

SUMMARY:Community Reinforcement Approach Training
DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to announce a training opportunity on May15-27\, 2024 for clinical and clinical supervisory staff in the Community Reinforcement Approach – an evidence-supported intervention for patients with substance use disorders\, including opioid and stimulant use disorders. Please share with clinical staff at your organization\, as well as other licensed provider organizations. \nNo cost to providers – SUPR covers all costs\nTraining and certification in a leading evidence-based treatment model: the Community Reinforcement Approach (CRA)\nCRA is effective in the treatment of opioid and stimulant use disorders\, especially in combination with MAT or contingency management for stimulants\nCRA training is for clinicians and clinical supervisors \nAs part of training and technical assistance\, SUPR is pleased to offer you and your staff the opportunity to attend training and become certified in the Community Reinforcement Approach (CRA). CRA is one of the first evidence-based treatments for substance use disorders and has been shown to be effective for opioid use disorders\, especially in combination with MAT. CRA research spans four decades and over a dozen positive clinical trials. See the attached flyer to read more about CRA. \nAbout CRA training and different certification tracks \nCRA training is for clinicians and clinical supervisors. Sometimes a senior clinician serves as the CRA clinical supervisor. An organization can achieve sustainability of this treatment model by sending at least one clinician and supervisor to the training. For more information about the CRA model\, training\, and certification\, as well as testimonials from prior trainees and patients\, visit https://www.chestnut.org/ebtx. \nCRA-informed certification. Trainees may pursue CRA-informed certification after the training. These self-paced\, online courses provide additional details on the CRA procedures and further reinforce the clinical applications of procedures taught in the training. This certification anchors your understanding of CRA and provides actual clinical sessions demonstrating the use of CRA procedures. \nClinical certification. Following the CRA training\, trainees may follow a certification process that involves uploading clinical session recordings to a secure website for expert feedback and attending online coaching meetings for up to one hour twice per month. After certification\, a supervisor can train and certify clinicians at his/her own agency. \nHere’s what clinicians and supervisors have said recently about CRA training and certification: \n·        This training was fantastic! I really enjoy the method – it is so valuable and so very client-centered! The trainers were great! I learned so much from this training. I wish I had this training years ago – it is so valuable! \nI appreciate my Chestnut Coordinator and her incredible coaching. She is great! She is so positive\, encouraging\, wise\, and inspiring. I learned a lot from her. She always made me feel good about my skills and progress. That meant and still means so much to me. \nThank you for the full support I received throughout my certification process! I can’t speak highly enough of the Chestnut team\, who went above and beyond to provide me feedback and guidance. Thank you for the continuous encouragement I received since the first day of training!\nAbout Chestnut’s EBTx Center \nThe EBTx Center at Chestnut Health Systems has been training and certifying clinicians and clinical supervisors in CRA since 2006. To date\, the EBTx Center has trained over 3\,000 clinicians and supervisors at over 600 provider organizations in the United States and Canada. \n  \nMay 2024 training information \nThe next CRA training is scheduled for May 15-17 and will take place via Zoom. Training is spread over 3 days\, from 10am CT to 4pm CT. SUPR is covering the cost of training\, certification\, coaching\, and on-demand support and assistance to your clinical staff who participate in the training process. Continuing education credit from NAADAC\, the Association for Addiction Professionals\, is available to those who attend the training in its entirety. \n  \nTo register\, please complete the attached form and email it to Kelly Mayou at krmayou@chestnut.org. The deadline to register is Friday\, April 26. We hope you will take advantage of this important training opportunity.CRA A-CRA One Page 052720 Registration Form 05-2024
