The IL Department of Human Services’ Division of Substance Use Prevention and Recovery (SUPR) has launched “Are You Really Winning?” to build awareness of problem gambling and to promote Illinois Helpline services for people experiencing problem gambling. - Our trained and certified Specialists are available by phone, online chat, and via text to help those with a gambling or substance use disorder, as well as their families, loved ones, and providers.
- In addition to information and referrals, we also offer warm hand-offs and follow-up calls from our Clinicians to provide ongoing support and to address barriers to accessing treatment and recovery support.
- We offer initial and follow-up phone services and online resources in English and Spanish, and we can accommodate callers speaking any language.
- Our services are free and confidential, and we are committed to providing caring and non-judgmental support to anyone who needs help.
”Are You Really Winning”? and Helpline services will help to meet several goals of SUPR for fiscal year 2023. Since July of 2022, the IL Helpline has been providing support and referrals related to problem gambling to strengthen the client-centered approach to behavioral health services. The IL Helpline has offered substance use-related support and referrals since its launch in 2018, and with the addition of problem gambling services, the Helpline can better serve those who may experience co-occurring problem gambling and substance use issues.
